The asset upload functionality is similar to what currently we are using to import assets in bulk. The only difference with the new functionality is that it allows to import assets along with one primary pair and two secondary pairs of attributes. You can use the following guidelines to explore new asset upload functionality in detail:
A. Configure attributes at master level
Go to Administration General Attributes
You can use existing attributes or add new attributes as required.
Once attributes are configured, go to the next section (B) to assign attributes for sub-category under category of assets.
B. Assign pre-defined attributes for sub-category under category of assets
Go to Administration Assets Category
Edit any existing category or add a new one.
Go to category detail page and edit any existing sub-category or add a new sub-category as required.
While editing any sub-category, you can add pre-defined attributes for that sub-category under category of the assets. Make sure you are using proper code for assigned attribute as it must match with the value of attribute.
C. Update data in CSV file and upload assets with attributes
Go to Assets module Options Import assets
On import asset page, click on Download.
In the downloaded CSV file, you can update attribute details for assets as shown below:
Note:
For each pair of attribute columns, first column is for Attribute Code and second one is for Attribute Value.
Make sure you have entered correct Code and Value for attributes before importing assets through updated CSV file. Attribute code and value should be matched. i.e. Code = METRES, Value = 10.
The first pair of attributes will be imported as a primary attribute and others as secondary (if exist).
Once you’ve updated the details for assets in CSV file, click on Choose File, select the file and click on Submit to import the assets with attributes.
