How do I change imported collection schedule information?

Created by Mark Eves, Modified on Wed, 15 Mar, 2023 at 11:18 AM by Ben Hayes

The system provides organisations with the ability to bulk import waste collection schedule data into their instances. This allows for faster and easier automated processing of waste collection services for their customers.

If this data requires amendment, either due to outdated information or human error, organisations have the ability to do so.

What steps do I need to follow to amend imported collection schedule information?

1. You will first need to gather the collection IDs of the collection schedules you wish to amend, as the system requires these IDs in order to associate the amendments you make to the correct collection schedules.

These IDs can be found by going into the Waste tab. Click on  Option  to open the filter, and search for the relevant collection schedules (the collection type is mandatory).

2. The search results will display similarly to below. The collection IDs are held under the "Number" column. These are required if you want to amend a collection schedule.

3. Go back into the Waste tab, and click on Options

4. The following pop-up will appear on the screen, providing several options. Scroll down, and click on "Import".

5. You will be taken to the following screen. Click on  Download Template  to download the waste CSV file template required for upload and/or amendment.

  Note
The file may open within your browser instead. In this case, you can right-click and save this a CSV file.

6. Open the CSV file in an appropriate program (e.g. Microsoft Excel), and it should appear within the program like in the screenshot below.

7. Insert the collection IDs under the "Action" column, and amend the information in the other columns as required. The end result should look similar to the screenshot below.

8. Save this CSV file, and go back into the Waste tab >  Options > "Import"

9. Upload the new CSV file with the changes you have made, and click on  Submit . The file will be added to the waste upload list, and will process the changes overnight.

  Note

Deleting an uploaded CSV file will NOT deactivate the waste collection schedules if they have already been processed overnight. If you want to deactivate bulk uploaded waste schedules, you can do so by amending the End Dates to a date that has already passed (e.g. yesterday), using the instructions outlined in this article. In addition, our scheduler for task uploads only runs on weekends. As such, any amendments made to collection tasks will be processed over the nearest weekend.
