How do I create and configure waste collection types?

The system provides organisations with the ability to upload waste collection schedules to their instances. This allows for automation and processing of the waste collections carried out by mobile workers or third parties.

Waste collection types specify the type of collection required (e.g. green garden waste, recycling, etc).

What steps do I need to follow to create and configure waste collection types?

01. Go to Administration -> Waste -> Collections.

02. You will be brought to the following page. From here, you can add and amend waste collection types on your system. Click on  Add  to start creating a new Collection Type.

03. You will be brought to the following page. From here, you can configure the details of the waste collection type. The only mandatory field is the Name field. Click on  Add  to create the collection type.

4. You will be taken back to the previous page, and your newly created collection type will be added to the list. Click on  to configure it further.

5. You will see that you now have further configurations to make. You MUST change the Code field of the collection to something more succinct and appropriate, as this code is a mandatory inclusion for bulk waste collection schedule upload.

6. If you enable "Auto create task", you can arrange for a task to automatically generate for this collection type when a relevant waste collection is due. Simply provide the task type, the initial status, and the duration of the task.

7. If you enable "Missed collection", customers will be able to submit reports if their waste collections are not processed. You can stop customers from reporting missed collections before a certain type, or if the status is still "Open", and set the error message accordingly. You can configure the maximum number of days customers are allowed to report missed collections, and whether exception days and/or weekends are taken into account for this limit.

8. You can limit the number of service history days that a customer can view, and can restrict customers from submitting missed collection reports if certain status conditions are not met. In addition, you will need to configure a task to generate from this missed collection report so that your workers can process the request, and schedule whether the task should be due on the current day or the next working day.

9. When you are finished, scroll up and click on  Apply Changes  at the top of the screen.
