With a vision to comply with accessibility standards, we introduce a newer version of Portal 4.0. A simple design displaying clear content will help users to adopt it easily. You can explore the following features that are now available to use with Portal 4.0:
Is this page useful?
On every form level page, you can see a banner with ‘Is this page useful?’ message, just above the footer section.
Users can use three options here – Yes, No or Report a problem with this page.
If you click on Yes, then you’ll get a message as ‘Thank you for feedback’ and the response will be recorded on the system
If the user clicks on No then a pop up will appear allowing the user to submit feedback. Add email address and click on ‘Send me the survey’ and after that, the user will get a confirmation mail with further steps.
If you want to submit feedback as a guest user then click on Don’t have an account? To proceed with anonymous submission.
If you click on Report a problem with this page, a pop up will appear where you can submit your response as What were you doing? and What went wrong?.
Hint text & Errors
Hint text is now available to help users to enter the correct details e.g. Enter your first name.
If the box is empty or incorrect details are entered, it will show an error message just above that box along with red outer line.
Date Picker
To configure Date Picker functionality, go to Administration Service request and Case Forms builder
While configuring Forms, under Regions you need to add Date Input (GDS only) plugin in Attributes as shown below:
Enter valid date, month and year details and click on Next.
If any input field is empty or contains invalid details, then a red outline will be reflected along with error message on clicking Next button. This helps the user to identify and correct the errors.
If only one or two values are invalid then only those boxes will show red outline.
File Upload
To configure File Upload functionality, go to Administration Service request and Case Forms builder
While configuring Forms, under Regions you need to add File Upload (GDS only) plugin in Attributes as shown below:
To use file upload functionality, click on Choose Files, select the file and click on Next to successfully upload the file.
Inset text
To configure Inset Text functionality, go to Administration Service request and Case Forms builder
Select the Inset summary (GDS only) plugin in Attributes in form configuration. Put the text content in inset summary box that you want to show on portal as inset text.
Inset text will reflect on portal as below:
Banners
Currently, Banners are hard coded (so admin can’t configure them) and used to show pending payment notification although you can hide them by clicking on cross icon in the header. You can view pending payment details by clicking on Click here to view or pay.
Details
To configure Details functionality, go to Administration Service request and Case Forms builder
Select the Detail summary (GDS only) plugin on form configuration page. Put text content in details summary box which you want to show on the portal.
With Details Summary, initially only the header text will be visible (which you can configure while adding the item as the label) and once you click on that header text complete text content will be shown as below:
Google reCAPTCHA
The previous captcha has been changed to the Google reCAPTCHA following feedback, and this enhances the security of the portal. Enter the details and click on the check box for I’m not a robot and then proceed to sign in.
Multi-factor authentication
To enable Multi-factor authentication, go to Administration GDS Settings
On the Settings page, scroll down and enable Yes for Two-factor authentication radio button.
Once MFA enabled, multi-factor authentication will be available on Home Page Sign in, after Registration and on accessing portal through Short URL
To register on portal, enter the details such as email address, first name, last name and password, agree terms and conditions and click on Register.
On Multi-factor authentication page, you can choose SMS or Call option to get 4-digit code. It will also allow you to resend activation SMS after 30 seconds.
Note: MFA is chargeable at 10p per text and clients will be billed monthly for calls made.
Gmail or Facebook login
Now, users can login through Gmail or Facebook account as well by using new login functionality. Click on Google or Facebook icon and it will redirect to your Gmail login or Facebook login page, enter the details and allow access. This will create your account with the Gmail or Facebook account provided by you.
New look for SR page design
Service request page has been redesigned to meet GDS standards.
The user can also add documents and submit notes through same SR page.
To view the submitted document, click on Gallery.
Click on Notes to view submitted notes
Click on Location to view the location of the submitted request on map
