This article outlines the enhancements and further developments that form part of the v25.2 release, scheduled for deployment on live MCS systems on 24th May 2025.
If you have any questions regarding this release, please contact joseph.morgan@abavus.co.uk.
Functionality | Area | Description | Guide |
---|---|---|---|
New Housing Module | Housing |
| - |
Form Translations | Forms | Enhanced process for adding translations to your forms are part of the multi-language capability. | Guide |
Grants Reporting | Grants | A new analytical report for use as part of the Grants module. | - |
MobileOps Offline Capability | MobileOps | Enhancements to MobileOps offline capability for improved stability and performance. | Guide |
Bulk Update via Map | Tasks | You can select multiple Tasks on a map by drawing a polygon around them. You can then update the parameters of these Tasks in one go. | Guide |
Admin Portal and App icons | Branding | The icons in use on the admin portal (e.g. edit) and on the mobile app have been updated in line with the updated versions released by the supplier. | - |
Microsoft 365 | Emails | All councils are strongly encouraged to transition to using a Microsoft 365 mailbox within their own Microsoft 365 tenant for sending and receiving emails via the My Council Services system. Moving to Microsoft 365 will help avoid issues related to DKIM, spam filters, and email deliverability, and will also support functionality such as Service Messaging. This change will become a standard requirement. | Guide |
GDS Email Templates | Emails | The improved email templates are available in all Demo instances for review. These bring an updated style to emails sent from the system but do not affect the content of emails. They also greatly improve the readability of emails on mobile devices. We recommend the GDS email templates are enabled in Production instances as soon as possible to ensure a consistent and improved experience across all communications. These can be activated upon request. | - |
GDS v5 Portal | Customer Portal | As previously advised, the v3 Customer Portal will be decommissioned from the v25.2 release on 24th May 2025. Customers currently using the v3 Portal must transition to the v5 Customer Portal and short URLs. Customers on the v4 Portal are not affected at this stage but should plan for a future move to v5. The move primarily affects how forms are accessed and displayed to residents — no significant changes to your back-end processes or forms should be necessary. | Guide |
