My Waste Services - Waste Worker

 Waste Worker App - Prerequisites

‘Waste Worker’ allows a Crew to view and manage collection tasks per property per Round.

There are two views :

List view

This displays all collection tasks, which are generated from each collection round.  These can be searched for by street, property number.  On each collection task,   details such as container types, assisted collection, and property/street notes/hazards are displayed. Crews can update the status of any collection task, such as reason for missed collection.  Any updates can be sent by the crew at any point of the collection round.

The map view allows the User to follow turn by turn Route navigation of the collection points for properties automatically marking collections as completed.  On each collection task,   details such as container types, assisted collection, and property/street notes/hazards are displayed. These details can also be spoken out as part of the turn by turn navigation instruction.  Crews can update the status of any collection task, such as reason for missed collection.    There are various skip and deviate options to allow for deviation of routes, and rerouting if required.  Turn by Turn instructions can be both visual and spoken.  Lane Assistance is an visual option available.  Any updates can be sent by the crew at any point of the collection round.

Enabling ‘Mock location’

Connecting the GPS Garmin GLO device through ‘GPS Connector’ app allows the GPS of the device to be used on the Android device.

This is available on Google Playstore as follows:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.pilablu.gpsconnector&hl=en_GB&gl=US&pli=1

To connect :

Connect your external GPO device.

Open the app settings and set "USB Device" as "GNSS Input" you have to set the usb-vendor (here in the example "Garmin") and the connection.

Go back to main status page of the app

You have to set the "mock location app" in order to use the location of external antenna.

Go to: Settings > System > Advanced > Developer options.  Scroll down to "select mock location app" and select the "GPS Connector" app.

If you don't see the developer options, you must initially activate the options on your smartphone.

It depends on the Android OS version of your phone how to activate the developer options, e.g.:  Goto: Settings > About phone > Build number (and click multiple times on that item)
