How do I create and configure missed bin collections?

The Waste Module provides Organisations with a "Missed Collections" function. Configuring this on a Collection Type and adding it to a Form via the Missed Bin Plugin will allow Customers to submit Service Requests regarding Missed Bin Collections, should they occur.

Admin Users can also use this function to have the system automatically schedule a Task for Missed Bins to be collected, either on the same day or the next working day.

1) Go to Administration -> Waste -> Collections. Add a new Collection Type

First you will add the collection type which is shown in the image above. Once this has been added, come out of the collection type page and then go back into collection type. As seen below:

2) You should now see the option to 'Enable Missed Collection' please enable this option. Please see picture below:

Scroll down to the “Missed Collection” section to configure various options.

Cannot report before - This limits the time a User can report a Missed Bin. For example, if this is set to 4pm, a User won't be able to report a Missed Bin before 4pm on the same day.

And status type is open - This adds a further limit, preventing Users from reporting Missed Bins if the related Collection Task Status is still "Open".

Message - This is the message the User will see if they try to report before the specified time, and/or when the Collection Task Status is "Open".

Allow reporting up-to days - This allows you to limit the number of days that a Missed Bin can be reported, after it was due for collection. For example, if this is set to 14, Users won't be able to report a Missed Bin that was missed 14+ days ago. This can be inclusive of Exception Days and weekends. You'll also need to configure a Message here to inform Users.

Show service history days - This allows you to configure how many Bin Collections from previous days will display for Users to see and select. For example, if set to 14, collections from the last 14 days will display.

Allow customer to report as missed in following statuses and sub status - This allows you to further limit what Users can report. If at least one of the Statuses added here is present in a Collection Task, and other configured criteria is met, Users will be able to report their Missed Bin. You can also configure the same for instances of Assisted Collections, and will need to add Messages to inform Users.

Task type - This will be the Task Type that the system will generate when a Missed Bin Form is submitted. IMPORTANT - Task Types will need appropriate Transitions and Statuses configured beforehand to function properly.

Scheduled date - You can select whether the Task's due date should be set to the same day the Missed Collection is reported, or the next working day. You can copy the location from the parent Task, if required, and can assign a specific Owner to the Task. IMPORTANT - If you want to disallow duplicate reports, you must set the Scheduled Date to "Current Day".

Allow administration override - If the criteria for a Missed Collection isn't met, but the request still needs to be passed through for any reason, Admin Users will be able to override the required conditions. For example, this could be used for special cases, or as a safety measure in case something is overlooked during Collection Type configuration.
