Data Transfer Format 7.3 (DTF) for the National Land and Property (NLPG) Gazetteer Change Only Update (COU) files can now be uploaded into the system and this will create ‘interim addresses’ on the platform. This allows an Organisation to upload DTF COUs files in order to import all addresses and related details specific to their LLPG address system.
Once created, any addresses added using a DTF file are visible when using the Location Picker throughout the system. As an interim address, DTF derived addresses are subject to a different matching process with the system’s main address dataset than other interim addresses.
This feature supports both English and Welsh addresses.
1. How to create addresses by manually loading DTF files
01. Go to Community -> Temporary
03. Select ‘Upload DTF’ . Click on it to proceed.
04. Select and upload the DTF file.
Within an Address, you will be able to view how this address was added and amended within the History section including the file name and User.
DTF Files can be scheduled to be automatically loaded using FTP. If you require this function please contact Abavus support at [email protected].
Important
- When addresses are loaded using a DTF file, they are created with a purpose of ‘ Change Only Update (COU). This is used in the matching processes to ensure that if an address with the same UPRN is added as interim address as with an address within the main address dataset, then the interim address is not merged and displayed as the main address.
- When the systems address dataset is updated and addresses will be matched again.
- The DTF upload process will add both address and street records from the DTF NLPG COU file which meet a certain criteria. If a street descriptor is not present in the file for an address, the address will appear without a street. If the street record is uploaded in a subsequent file, the upload process will check all interim addresses and update all interim address records with the street descriptor.
- If an address record is added as a ‘street’ e.g. Street Record, this will appear without the postcode. Street Records will be loaded in both English and Welsh where applicable.
- For English and Welsh addresses, these are added with separate LPI Keys and are updated separately.
