How do I use Item Codes in Products for payments?

1) Add an item to your form that you don't want to take a value from. This item needs to be on the page BEFORE the Product plugin. This doesn't need to be a Hidden item - it can be a Textfield item, for instance.

2) When configuring the item, update or take the Item Code name as needed. This can be whatever you like - for example, P_REFERENCE_1.

3) In the Product itself, add this Item Code in the relevant reference field. Use hashtags around the Item Code value.

4) This is what will populate a value in the payment integration. The example above is using #NARRATIVE#.
