We are in the process of upgrading the UI of all client Mobile Apps, to improve accessibility and user experience.
Part of this upgrade process will be the inclusion of a dynamic footer menu at the bottom of the Mobile App. This allows organisations to configure up to four commonly used and/or important features in a location that's easier and faster to access.
What steps do I need to follow to configure the bottom menu of the Mobile App?
Go into Administration > Self Service > Tabs
From here, you can used the up and down arrows to change the order that Tabs will appear, in both the Customer Portal and the Mobile App. The first four Tabs in the list will appear in the same order within the bottom menu of the Mobile App once the new metadata is published.
Click on
when finished, then go into Administration > Self Service > Publish to save the changes.
What steps do I need to follow to add News and Nearby to the bottom menu?
You will need to create Tabs for these functions. Within the Tabs screen, click on
to start creating a new Tab.If you were setting up a News Tab, type the name accordingly. Set the URL type to "Local view", and the Local Page as "News".
Click
to finish. This News Tab will appear in the Tab list, where it can be ordered as required.
Similarly, if you wanted to add a "Nearby and Places" Tab, configure a new Tab as shown below:
IMPORTANT
The "More" Tab cannot be moved or changed. Any Tabs placed in the bottom menu will not appear under the "More" Tab, to avoid duplication.
Similarly, in the Customer Portal, the "Home" Tab cannot be moved or changed. Please ignore it when re-arranging.
We recommend that the length of Tab names for bottom menu Tabs should be around 8-9 characters to maintain a clean and tidy UI.
