The My Council Services platform now allows you to list out places and activities within a certain radius of a customer's current location. This feature is designed for the Mobile App, allowing customers to view different places around them, and see their details.
Note
Nearby places and activities will only appear in the app if the user is within 5 kilometres of the place or activity. Customisable distance limits will be included in a future release.
What steps do I need to follow to configure nearby places and activities?
Go to Administration > Self Service > Activities and Places
The following screen will appear, where you can configure various settings for Activities and Places.
You will first need to define Types, so select "Type", and click on
to bring up the following.Give the Activity a Name and a Code, and click on
to add it.
To add Categories and Sub-Categories, go back to the previous screen, click on "Category", and then click on
to bring up the following.Give the Category a Name, a Code, and specify the Type. You can also configure a From and To Date for when this will be available, as well styling options.
Click on
to add the Category. You will then be able to edit the Category and add Sub-Categories, if required.
The Categories and their Sub-Categories configured here will be displayed on the Mobile App on "Nearby" at the bottom menu.
You can now add an Activity or a Place on your system. Go back to the previous screen, click on "Activities and Places", and then click on
to bring up the following.Give a Name, and select the relevant Category and Sub-Category. Every other field is optional. You can include additional information, if required.
Click on
to add.
Once created, you can configure further details.
This is a free-text field where you can add information about available facilities or particulars about the place.
This is a free-text field where you can specify the opening and closing times of the place.
You can add transport and parking options.
Enter the postcode and select the full address to be populated for the location of the place.
You can add contact details for the place.
Add any images or documents for the place.
You can see all of the changes made to the place.
You also have the option to delete any uploaded images or documents.
Any configurations made to the place will appear on the Mobile App in the "Nearby" section when tapping on a place or activity.
