How to configure the News module

The ‘News’ module offers the ability to the users to configure news articles in a simple and easy way that is reflected upon the App.


Add or edit news categories



The admin user can create different categories to display news articles.


  1. Go to Administration -> News-> Categories


 


  1. Once a Category has been created the news tab will appear directly above administration on the left-hand side of the Admin portal. 


3. Once News has been opened existing news categories will be displayed in the list as displayed in the screenshot below. Click to edit any news category.



4. Click on the ‘Add’ button to add a new ‘News’ category.


5. Provide a name to the news category.


6.Enable ‘Yes’ to allow the news category.


7. Enter the description text.


8. Click on the ‘Add’ button



Add or edit news articles



The admin user can create new or edit existing news articles under the ‘News’ module.


  1. Go to the News module.
  2. The existing news articles will be displayed in the list as shown in the screenshot. Click to edit any news article.



     3. Click on the ‘Add’ button to add a new ‘News’ article.


For the ‘News’ section on page-



  1. Category: Select the category from the list or click on add icon to add a new category.

  2. Valid from/to: Select the to/from date the article should be available

  3. Enable: Select ‘Yes’ to enable the news article.

  4. Access level: Define which access level the article should be available


For the details section-



  1. Title: Provide a suitable title for the article.

  2. Subtitle: Enter the text for subtitle, excerpt, and introduction



For the content section-


Enter the text for the body of the news article.




a) News: The news article ID.


b) Status: This field will display the status of the news article: 


c) Language: This field shows the language of the article.


d) Version: The news article version captures the changes or revisions made to the article. For news article with status as new or draft, subsequent versions will be marked as 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc. For articles with status as published, the versioning will be in the format 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, etc.


e) Author: If known, the admin can enter the author's name in this field, or the system will automatically add the user's name as the author's name after article creation.


f) Publish: This button will appear after the article is created. The administrator can publish the article by clicking on it.


 


Add keywords for news articles



The administrator can add keywords on the details menu of the news article page.



Add a thumbnail image to the news article



The administrator can choose and upload any image to set it as the thumbnail of the news article.
