MCS rules allow automated actions as per configuration. The rules trigger actions based on various events and are mapped to forms, tasks, contracts and assets under the general rules screen within service request and case within the Administration tab.
Once rules have been added the administrator can map them to specific forms, contract templates, task types, and assets. It will help to have a clear view of the rules processes and sub-processes applied to them.
Important note: This functionality allows for the effective management of rules. It is highly recommended that this process is completed in order to remove rules no longer required for particular forms, tasks, contracts and assets therefore enhancing rules performance.
There is no change in the configuration and functionality of rules.
Admin users can map the rule processes as follows:
- Create a new rule (if required)
- Go to Forms Builder -> select form> view the right hand side of the form screen
(For contracts, go to administration > contracts > templates -> detail
For task types, go to administration > tasks -> types > detail
For assets, go to administration > assets > category > detail) - On the form page, you can find a section called ‘Rule Process’
- Select the process from the pre-populated list of existing rules process in your system. You can select one or more processes here.
- Then select the sub-process as needed. You can select one or more sub-processes
- Save the changes.
- This will map the process to that form, task type, contract template and asset category as per your configuration.
Admin users can also map processes by completing the following steps below:
- Go to administration -> rules
- Click on manage button
- On this screen, select the option from Forms, task types, contract templates and asset categories.
- It will display the list of the required items.
- Select the process and sub-process to map them to the forms, task types, contract templates and asset categories.
- Save the changes
From this screen, you can select only single process and sub-process. Multiple selection is not allowed here.
