Advanced location picker with What3Words search capability

The advanced location picker is to be used where a location is not linked to a property. It facilitates the following search-

(*By default the address will only search local council data and not the NLPG)

1) Search via street

The customer enters their postcode, clicks search. The pin is shown on the map at a central point for that postcode. The customer can then fine tune their location by clicking and dropping a pin.

Returned data

The Longitude (e.g. -0.195521) and Latitude (e.g. 51.520847) coordinates, this is then saved as a Service Request Location marker.

2) Search via What3Words

By using What3Words app or website the customer locates the location and either copies or memories the location e.g. lazy.prime.minister and pastes or types in the location and clicks go.

We will then using the What3Words API look up the geo-cordites and place the pin at that location.

As the user types the What3Words location the field will auto suggest based on the suggest API.

Returned data

The Longitude (e.g. -0.195521) and Latitude (e.g. 51.520847) coordinations,

The What3Word (e.g. filled.count.soap) returned from the map.

The What3word nearest place (e.g. "Bayswater, London”)

This is then saved as a Service Request Location marker.

3) Search via clicking on the map

The user does not use the ‘Go’ button, but instead moves and/or clicks on the map. The pin is placed at the clicked location.

Returned data

The Longitude (e.g. -0.195521) and Latitude (e.g. 51.520847) coordinates is then saved as a Service Request Location marker.

Configuring the advanced location picker is straightforward and similar to the process of location picker plugin.

You can configure the Advanced location picker on the form by selecting the plugin.

For those customers who have the subscription for What3Words service with MCS, they will have an option under Location Picker to enable the What3words search for their forms.

The administrator can select YES to enable the What3Words with the location picker.

Save the configuration and publish the form.

Once this is enabled, the location picker will allow searching of postcode, street name or What3words while submitting the report.
