If a Merge Field is not working...

If a Merge Field is not working correctly...


 


1) Please check to see if the Merge Field is being used for more than one item on your system. Each Merge Field can only be assigned against ONE item on your system, otherwise the Merge Field will not work. As an aside, we recommend that you keep a record of each Merge Field and the Catalogue/Form/Item it is assigned to.


 


2) Please check to see if the Merge Field is being used within a Hidden item. The Merge Field functionality was designed for Hidden items, as you can set the default value of a Hidden item to a relevant Dynamic Field, which will then be copied and pulled through by the Merge Field.


 


3) Please check to see that the Merge Field item has a relevant Dynamic Field within the default value. The Merge Field may not work correctly if something other than a Dynamic Field is used in the default value.
