How do I configure BLPU classifications for Location Pickers?

The MCS system now provides organisations with the ability to configure Basic Land and Property Unit (BLPU) classifications within their instances.

This allows organisations to restrict selectable addresses within a Location Picker (e.g. to residential addresses only). This is based on BLPU classifications, in accordance with NLPG (National Land and Property Gazetteer) address data.

  Note

Please refer to the following link for BLPU classifications (see Appendix C): https://www.geoplace.co.uk/downloads/GeoPlace-DEC-Addresses-v3.4-2016.pdf

What steps do I need to follow to configure BLPU classifications?

Go into Administration > Location > BLPU Classification

Click  Add  to start creating a new code grouping.

The following screen will appear.

Enter the BLPU Class Code, and a comment description to explain the purpose of this to other Admin Users. Select the required BLPU Class Values from the pre-populated list.

If BLPU is enabled within a Location Picker, the values added here will be the only selectable property types.

Click  Save  to finish.

You can now configure Location Picker plugins with this BLPU classification.

Go to Administration > Forms Builder and select/create a Form with a Location Picker.

Under the "Advanced" region, you can add BLPU classification codes to be applied against this Location Picker. Enabling "Show only council location" will further restrict selectable addresses to those within your organisation's boundaries.

Remember to save and publish the changes.

  IMPORTANT

A postcode must be used to fill the address field (e.g. E18 2HZ). The system will then generate a list of selectable addresses related to the postcode.
