Introduction

The MCS Platform supports multi-language functionality. Language selection is controlled by the End User, as per their language preference. When multi-language is enabled, you will need to translate all areas of your system accordingly.

Key Objectives:

I. Translate Module

II. Translating Forms

III. Translating the Customer Portal

IV. Translating System Settings

V. Email Translations

     a. System

     b. Email Templates

     c. Notifications

VI. Products

---

I. Translate Module

The Translate Module allows an organisation to create, edit, and publish translation content. This can be done in the appropriate language(s) required, either independently, or in conjunction with Google Translate. Forms can be translated independently from this Module within Forms Builder.

Languages

To check the languages enabled on your system, go to Admin -> Translate -> Languages

From here, you can select which languages you want to enable on your system, and then click on the “Submit” button on the right side of the screen to apply the changes.

Forms

The second tab available is the “Forms” tab, providing online language translation that instantly translates text and web pages.

Admin Users can choose which Forms are suitable for translation by moving them from the left box into the right.

Enabling “Overwrite” will overwrite content with Google Translate, rather than their own translations.

The language box allows you to see which languages are available for translation, again by moving them from the left box into the right.

Objects

The third tab, “Objects”, allows Admin Users to translate or amend translations on all Form objects, including Form Names and Page Names.

Simply click on any of the Objects below to begin the translation process. The Objects are reflected from the content:

Once you have selected the relevant Object, a filter is available that allows the following:

01. “Filter” Objects to display whether they are currently translated

- Filter “ALL” Objects to displays all Objects

- Filter “BLANK” Objects that have no translation

- Filter “NOT NULL” Objects that have been translated

- Filter by “LANGUAGE”

02. “Translate”, using “Overwrite”

- Overwrite - where the Admin User wishes to use Google Translate (select “Ignore special character” to ignore translation of special characters)

- Select the Format, and then select “Translate"

03. “Translate”, manually

- Select the relevant filters, as described above

- The first column provides the English heading. The second column displays the box where the translation can take place. Enter text to provide translation, and click “Save”.

---

II. Translating Forms

Forms can be translated directly within Forms Builder, if preferred. This can be done by switching between languages from your Profile within the Admin Portal, and selecting the appropriate language.

You can then go into Forms Builder, and enter the appropriate text for each part of the Form (e.g. Form name, descriptions, Pages, Regions, Items).

III. Translating the Customer Portal

Currently, it is only possible to translate the Customer Portal from English to Welsh.

Many parts of the Customer Portal have translation pre-embedded and standardised across the platform. As such, you will only need to translate the following areas:

02. Portal Settings

From here, you can translate your Organisation Name, Charts, Widgets (including Title and URL), and your URL (again, including Title and URL).

Switch to the appropriate language via Profile, enter the translated text into the relevant Items, and then click on “Save”.

03. My Organisation

Go to Administration -> General -> My Organisation

From here, you can translate your Organisation Name, Website URL, Addresses (including “Purpose”), and all Contact Points (again, including “Purpose”).

Switch to the appropriate language via Profile, enter the translated text into the relevant Items, and then click on “Save”.

---

IV. Translating System Settings

01. Logos

Go to Administration -> Branding -> Logos

From here, you can translate the Login Page, and Application Pages. Switch to the appropriate language via Profile, enter the translated text into the relevant Items, and then click on “Save”.

02. Mobile Settings

Go to Administration -> Self Service -> Settings

Switch to the appropriate language via Profile, enter the translated text into the relevant Items, and then click on “Save”.

03. Dynamic Tabs

Go to Administration -> Self Service -> Tabs

V. Email Translations

01. Emails - Systems

All translations for System Emails are standardised across the platform. To check the translations, go to Administration -> Mail -> Templates -> Preview

02. Email Templates

All Email Templates can be translated, via Administration -> General -> Templates -> Email

03. Notifications

Go to Administration -> Message -> Send

From here, you can translate Name, Subject, and Message.

 ---

VI. Products

Step 1 - Units

Go to Administration > Units

Select the Unit which you wish to translate.  Switch to the appropriate language via Profile, enter the translated text into ‘Unit’, and then click on “Save.

Step 2 - Products

Select the Product which you wish to translate. Switch to the appropriate language via Profile, enter the translated text into ‘Description’ and ‘Reference 1’ on each Price within the Pricing section, and then click on “Save.
