For every single sign-on Auth2 project, our consulting team will need to be involved in the setup and configuration. The expected time for this project will be 6-8 weeks and will be subject to an ongoing maintenance cost.

Implementation Steps

1.     Obtain the client's 3rd party portal URL which they want to configure on the Customer Portal to redirect to.

2.     Setup the client's 3rd party portal URL as ‘View my account' button from Administration > accounts screen.

3.     Get and register redirect URL from Client to register with our Authorisation server. we will then setup the following

·      URL registration

·      Authorisation page layout

·      Logo

·      Authorisation page wordings if required

5.     Once the redirect link is registered, we will provide below details:

·      "CLient_ID" and "Client_Secret"

·      Authorization URL

·      Token URL

·      Userinfo URL

6.     Using the above information client will enable self-service access on their 3rd party platform. it's now ready to call Authorisation services using MCS user. (TORFAEN)

Using the single sign-on

Once the setup is completed, the end-user can start using it.

  • Login to the MCS customer platform

    • Click on ‘View my Business Rates account/Council Tax account/ Benefit claim’ as highlighted below to check citizen Torfaen portal with Auth2. This will redirect the user to Client (Northgate) URL and come back for MCS authorisation

  • Provide Authorisation credentials below. As a first-time user, you will be prompted to enter the credentials and give access to Allow.

  • The end-user can opt-in for the Welsh language by clicking on Cymraeg.

  • Once allowed, it will redirect to Northgate citizen portal as the same user and the person can access functionalities available on Northgate

  • Post that, if the user will again check for view council tax from a step: 2, it will simply ask to allow/deny user without asking for login credentials again as below:

  • Note- The user can switch between English and Welsh language as shown below
